The annual Redruth Charity Trust (RCT) Sponsors Reward Day took place at Redruth RFC on Saturday 29th February; an afternoon enjoying superb sport in great company to celebrate the support lent by local businesses.

The RCT Trustees welcomed representatives from their Gold, Silver and Bronze sponsorship scheme, enjoying delicious pasties and drinks while cheering on the Reds to victory, finishing 21-12 over the Old Albanians.

Chairman Chris Hailey said:

“The 2020 Sponsors Reward Day was our biggest and best to date with 90 guests in the Tribute Lounge at Redruth RFC.

In the 15 years we have run the sponsorship scheme, RCT has donated over £250,000 into supporting young people in sport. We couldn’t have done that without Redruth’s business community backing our work, and this gathering gives us a chance to say thank you, not to mention hear their feedback and continue valuable conversations about how we can continue to Make a Difference in Redruth.

As an unexpected bonus, we heard from a number of organisations at the event who believe in what we do and wish to join the sponsorship scheme. We look forward to welcoming some new names to the family, as we now open the next three-year rotation.

And of course, we must add our congratulations to the Reds on their well-deserved win, with special mention to player of the match Jack Simmons.”
