The Penventon Park Hotel has presented Redruth Charity Trust with a donation of £400, raised through their Local Heroes initiative.
Throughout 2019 The Penventon aims to celebrate local charities each month by donating 50p from their weekly changing Local Heroes menu with the aim of raising thousands of pounds for community causes.
Redruth Charity Trust was the nominated Local Hero for the month of May.
The cheque was presented by The Penventon to long-serving Trustees of the Redruth Charity Trust, Chris Hailey and Nigel Pearce.
Redruth Charity Trust Chairman, Chris Hailey, said:
“We were honoured that The Penventon chose Redruth Charity Trust to be one of their nominated Local Hero charities. The hotel has supported the Trust’s Youth Sports Awards for many years and this additional opportunity, and significant donation that resulted, has enabled the Trust to do even more to make a difference in Redruth.
“In consultation with The Penventon, we have agreed to honour the hotel’s founder David Pascoe, who sadly passed away recently. David having been a teacher, the Trust will direct the hotel’s donation into our Fred Harris Education Awards scheme; for 2019, we will be able to increase our grants to the larger junior schools in Redruth proportionately according to their pupil numbers.
“On behalf of the Trust, I wish to thank The Penventon for their continued support and all those that have chosen to dine from their Local Heroes menu.”
The Penventon Park Hotel General Manager, Nick Lawson said:
“I am delighted that the hotel and our diners have been able to make a significant donation to the Redruth Charity Trust through our Local Heroes Menu.
“As a hotel, the owners have supported the Trust in numerous ways over many years, and we look forward to supporting for many more. We are proud to be associated with the values on which the Trust is founded and the hard work that the trustees do for each community project.”
