We are delighted to nominate Daisy for the Redruth Charity Trust’s ‘Fred Harris Award’ in recognition of her outstanding contribution to both school and community. Daisy is a dedicated and regular attendee at Community Club, where her efforts have had a positive impact on the local environment and strengthened the school’s role within the community. She consistently supports community events, setting an excellent example to others through her commitment and enthusiasm. Daisy is also an accomplished sportsperson, representing Plymouth Argyle U11s ADC Rep team and competing for Redruth Judo Club. She proudly represents Treleigh School at national level in the British National Schools Judo competition, demonstrating high levels of competitiveness while always showing respect for her opponents and the rules. Her positive attitude, determination and ever-present smile make her a truly deserving recipient of this prestigious award. We are all incredibly proud of her achievements and contributions.

Courtney is nominated for this award because she brings so much happiness to her class and to everyone around her. This year, it has been wonderful to see her confidence, wellbeing, and engagement grow. Courtney’s smiles, love of music, and enthusiasm for shared activities brighten the day of both her friends and the adults who work with her. Courtney’s interactions with others, particularly during sensory activities, music sessions, and visits with children from Illogan School, have created many special moments and encouraged positive relationships and meaningful connections with those around her. It has been wonderful to see Courtney’s confidence grow throughout the year, and her determination and resilience have made her a valued and much-loved member of our school community. Courtney makes our school a better place simply by being herself.

This student has made a profound impact on both our school and the wider community through their exceptional behaviour, dedication, and kindness. Consistently hardworking and conscientious, they approach every aspect of the curriculum with infectious enthusiasm. What truly sets them apart, however, is their compassionate nature – whether they are helping adults at Pencoys, supporting friends in class or assisting younger children across the school, they set a wonderful example for us all.

Involved in every facet of school life, they are always the first to step forward and contribute. From representing the school at Pencoys events to participating in local community activities, they give nothing less than their absolute best. They greet every single person with warmth, genuine kindness, and impeccable manners, making our school a brighter place every day.

Cory is an absolute force to be reckoned with! He may be small in stature, but he more than makes up for it with his huge personality. He is cheeky, funny, full of energy, always smiling, and brings so much joy to everyone around him; he is the kind of child who leaves a lasting impression wherever he goes. An outstanding sportsman, Cory has proudly represented Pennoweth at countless sporting events over the years. He gives everything 100%, always encourages his teammates and never stops motivating those around him. Win or lose, he shows fantastic sportsmanship and is someone younger children naturally look up to. Outside of school, Cory is just as involved in his local community. Rugby is a huge part of his life, with his dad coaching at Redruth Rugby Club, and you’ll almost always find Cory there – supporting, helping out or running onto the pitch at half-time during the first team games. He is incredibly proud of his town and his club, and it shows in everything he does.

Cory has been a fantastic ambassador for Pennoweth throughout his time here. His enthusiasm, kindness, team spirit and larger-than-life personality make him a truly deserving recipient of the Fred Harris Award, and we have no doubt he will continue making Redruth proud for many years to come.

Rivka has been an exceptional student, throughout her time at Trewirgie Junior School, and is a highly deserving recipient of the Fred Harris Award. She consistently demonstrates determination, kindness, and compassion in everything she does, making her an outstanding role model for her peers.

Rivka is acutely aware of the needs of others and is always looking for opportunities to offer support and encouragement. What makes her contributions particularly special is that she does not seek recognition or praise; she helps others simply because she genuinely cares. This humble approach has caught the eye of so many staff members over the past four years.

As a Rights Respecting Champion, Rivka has been exceptional. She has worked tirelessly to ensure that every pupil’s voice is heard and valued, dedicating herself to the role with great responsibility and commitment. She is a passionate advocate for children’s rights and strongly believes in young people’s ability to make a positive change. Through her leadership, empathy, and dedication, she has inspired others and made a meaningful difference within the school community.

Rivka has worked brilliantly across the curriculum, showing endeavour at every turn. She throws herself into every lesson and opportunity afforded to her. She will seek clarification when needed and loves to showcase her learning, using her impressive vocabulary to captivate her peers. Alongside this, she has always represented our school with talent and pride when involved in sporting opportunities.

We believe that Rivka embodies the values of the ‘Fred Harris Award’ and is thoroughly deserving of this recognition, following in the footsteps of other fantastic Trewirgie alumni.

At Trewirgie Junior School, we believe that ‘leaving a legacy’ is central to all that we do – Rivka has certainly left a legacy at Trewirgie.

Dominik has made an exceptional contribution to both the school and the wider community through his leadership, enthusiasm and consistently positive attitude.

He has represented the school with pride in a range of areas, including sport and as a valued member of the LEGO League team on more than one occasion, where he has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills alongside a natural talent for engineering and programming. As a member of the School Council and as House Captain, Dom has played an active role in shaping the school community, always leading by example and supporting those around him. He has also been a trusted ambassador, confidently showing visitors around and presenting the school in the best possible light.

Dom fully embodies the school’s values of being curious, kind and connected. In lessons, he contributes thoughtfully and insightfully, often extending discussions with knowledge beyond expectations. He shows a particular enthusiasm for geography and history, alongside excellent academic progress across all subjects, especially in mathematics.

Kairyn makes an exceptional difference to our school community through his kindness, positivity and unwavering commitment to others. His gently, caring nature and calm presence have a grounding influence on both his classmates and the wider school community. Every day, he takes the time to check in with peers and adults, showing genuine care and empathy for those around him. Despite facing challenges, Kairyn approaches every day with determination, resilience and a positive attitude. He is eager to learn, proud to attend school and always strives to make a difference. Kairyn can be relied upon to warmly welcome and confidently speak to visitors, acting as an outstanding ambassador for the school. Through his kindness, perseverance and willingness to support others, he consistently spreads positivity and embodies the values of St Day and Carharrack Primary School.

It has been an absolute delight to teach Ella-Rose this year. She is truly a joy to have in the classroom: kind, caring, and incredibly gentle in every way.

Ella-Rose approaches her learning with a quiet determination and enthusiasm. Though she may be softly spoken, she has shone in the Y6 production, and her confidence has progressed so much. Quite simply, Ella takes care and pride in everything she does and always gives it her all.

What makes Ella-Rose especially special is her thoughtful and caring nature and manners. She is always considerate of others, showing kindness through her actions and words, and helping to create a supportive and happy environment for everyone around her.

Ella-Rose has been a cherished member of our class, and I am certain she will continue to grow in confidence and flourish in the years ahead. She truly is lovely in every way and we will all miss her next year! Redruth School will be very lucky to have you!

Imogen is a charismatic, mature and highly dependable pupil who consistently sets an excellent example to others. As a prefect, she has taken on responsibility with confidence and pride: demonstrating strong leadership through her calm, thoughtful manner and natural sense of fairness. She is a true role model within the school.

In class, Imogen approaches her learning with focus and determination, always striving to do her best.

Imogen has a brilliant sense of humour and brings positivity to those around her. Her excellent manners and kind nature have made her a valued friend, who is always helpful and supportive of others.

It has been an absolute pleasure to have Arlo as a member of our school for the past few years –it has been wonderful to be part of his journey to become a confident, caring and supportive young person who has a fantastic growth mindset and works diligently to always do his absolute best. During this school year he has taken on the role of house captain, fulfilling the role perfectly and being a massive help to all members of staff. He has also represented the school in football, swimming and cross country. On top of all this, Arlo has been an excellent role model as a buddy to two children in reception.

Outside of school he is an active member of Portreath Surf Life Saving, Nippers Club and Truro Swimming Club and regularly takes part in competitions around the country.

Arlo, can be relied upon to volunteer to help anyone throughout the school – children and staff alike. He is kind and considerate with a very clear sense of fairness.

We are very proud of Arlo and all that he has achieved so far; we look forward to following his success as he moves on to secondary school.
