Redruth Charity Trust held its 32nd annual Community Awards Celebration Evening on 14 October 2025, once again hosted at the Penventon Park Hotel. Trustees Alan Jewell and Scott Watters welcomed around 110 representatives from local clubs, societies and organisations for an uplifting evening dedicated to celebrating Redruth’s remarkable community spirit.
Awards totalling £9108 were presented to 34 local groups, supporting projects that strengthen wellbeing, inclusion and opportunity across the Redruth area

Alan and Scott’s trademark warmth and humour set the tone for the night, with heartfelt thanks shared for the extraordinary work of clubs and volunteers across the district. The evening shone a light on the everyday efforts that make Redruth thrive – the creativity, care, and connection found in every corner of the community.
Two special performances from Beth Mitchell and Sophie Jane of Redruth Amateur Musical and Pantomime Society (RAMPS) brought a touch of West End magic to the evening, including their duet of Tell Him from Cinderella and an energetic Super Trouper later in the night.
The event was once again streamed live for those unable to attend, thanks to Matt Watters and Morgan Court of Cornwall Funeral Services, who continue to provide professional AV and webcasting support at no cost to the Trust.

In his address, Chair of Trustees Chris Hailey reflected on a year that saw support extended to 34 community groups, 24 youth sports clubs and 10 schools, reaching over 6,000 local members:
“The Community Awards continue to demonstrate what makes Redruth special – people coming together to make a difference. None of this would be possible without our sponsors, volunteers and the tireless work of every club represented here tonight. Together, we’re building an even stronger Redruth.”
Chris Hailey, Chair of Trustees

The Clive Blake Award 2025
The evening concluded with the presentation of the Clive Blake Award, established in memory of Dr Clive Blake — a much-loved GP, trustee and former Chair of the Trust. This award recognises an individual whose kindness, leadership and service have made an outstanding contribution to the Redruth community.
This year’s recipient, Kerry Raymond, was honoured for her exceptional work with Gwealan Tops Adventure Playground and Redruth Learning Group Dance, inspiring children and families through creativity, inclusion and play. Kerry’s warmth, energy and selfless commitment perfectly reflect the spirit of Dr Blake’s legacy.
