A total of £8695 was distributed at the 2019 Redruth Charity Trust Community Awards ceremony, which took place on Wednesday 16th October at St Rumons Social Club.
Since this Awards scheme started 26 years ago, the Trust has donated almost £110,000 to the town’s community groups and clubs.
45 groups from the Redruth area were entertained by an ensemble from Lanner and District Silver Band and the presentations were compered by Trustee Alan Jewell.
Trust Chairman, Chris Hailey, welcomed representatives from the applying community groups and presented their grant cheques. Chris said:
“The Community Awards scheme enables the Trust to support local facilities and initiatives financially, helping them to continue to offer services to residents, but it also poses a chance for us to thank all the individuals that make these groups and clubs happen. Without the commitment and time of organisers, for the mostpart voluntary, the community wouldn’t be so rich in wellbeing and good spirit. With each cheque we have presented comes a thank you for everything they do to Make a Difference in Redruth.”
